Hello! My name is Jennifer Minton Nilsson. A native Georgia girl with roots on the coast, I grew up with a love of stories and the words that make them. Later, all that reading and writing came in handy as I began to tell others’ stories through a career in communications and marketing.
Somewhere along the way, I realized the one story to which I was paying the least attention was my own. Just like crafting a great story, life is an intentional activity. So I decided to take control of my own plot line and start learning to live a more intentional, more reflective, more conscious life. And – as someone who has always struggled to find courage to put my own words and feelings out there – to choose to believe that my own story was as worthy to be told as all the many others I had touched over the years.
So here we are – trying to write bravely and hoping that any who read here find something to inspire connection, reflection, hope, humor or just a little encouragement to believe your own story is one worth telling, just as it is. William Makepeace Thackeray wrote:
The world is a looking glass, and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. Frown at it, and it will in turn look sourly upon you; laugh at it and with it, and it is a jolly kind companion…
You get out what you put in. Off we go.
